Encrypted before it leaves your device
Everything you put in the vault — text, audio, video, files — is end-to-end encrypted in your own browser, with a passphrase that only you know. No one else can access it: no hacker, no employee, no one.
Three-key release
The recipient you choose only gets access with three factors at the same time: a code by text message, a code by email and your physical passphrase — which you keep in an envelope at home, for example. Maximum certainty that only the right person will open your safe at the right time.
FAQs
Can PSILY look into my digital vault?
No. Everything is already encrypted in your browser (end-to-end) before it goes to PSILY, with a passphrase that only you know. Employees can't see the content either.
How does my loved one get access to the safe?
With three keys at the same time: a code by text message, a code by email and your physical passphrase that you provide to the recipient yourself, for example on paper with your will.
What happens if the passphrase is lost?
Then the safe remains closed for good — even for PSILY. That is a conscious choice: it is precisely because no one has a back door that makes the safe so safe. Therefore, keep the sentence in a fixed, safe place.
How do I pass on that passphrase securely?
Outside PSILY, in the real world. On paper with your will, in an envelope with your notary, or to someone you completely trust. Never send it by email or app — then it's still in a place where someone could see it.
What can I put in the vault?
Text, documents, photos, audio and video. In practice, it's often passwords, insurance policies, property deeds, a vault code or a personal message that no one else should see.
How does the vault differ from a regular message?
With a regular message, PSILY keeps your content encrypted and the system delivers it at the right time. With the vault, encryption happens already in your browser, with a key we never see. We then literally store unreadable data.
What people store in it
The most common are passwords: the master password of a password manager, access to an email account, the PIN of a safe deposit box. Without those keys, loved ones get stuck at virtually every digital door, no matter how well everything else is arranged.
Besides that: insurance policies, property deeds, the code to a safe, or a letter intended for only one person. Some store a video in it that no one else should see — a conversation with one child, or something that should only be understood years later.
The difference from the rest of PSILY is the key. With the vault, your own browser encrypts the content before anything is sent, with a passphrase that never reaches our side. We store ciphertext and nothing else. That's also the flip side: if that phrase is lost, the vault is closed forever. So pass it on outside PSILY — on paper with your will, with your notary, or to someone you completely trust.
